NEW, FLEXIBLE SHARE SIZES FOR 2021!

We offer four share sizes for farm pick-up on our Workplace Boxed Share program: the sampler/personal (for those who don't wish to commit to a larger share, or prefer not to share a share),  small (sized for 1 vegan/vegetarian adult, or a couple that goes light on produce), medium (sized for 2-3 adults) and large (sized for approximately 2 adults & 2-3 children). Please keep in mind, however, that the right-sized share for you depends not just on the number of people in your household but also on your eating habits. If you are a vegetarian or like to do lots of canning and freezing, you may prefer a larger share, or you may want to consider purchasing two shares for one family.

While the produce will be delivered in boxes, depending on share size, please know that at certain times of the season the boxes may not be completely full, and at other times of the season, there may be additional produce located outside the box, such as pumpkins and watermelon. Please know that during the first three weeks of the season, the crop diversity may be lower, as at the beginning of the season the number of crops may be less as they may be the only crops mature enough for harvest at that time.

You can choose the produce contents of your box!  This will allow farm staff to grow more of what you want and reduce food waste. You also will be able to purchase extras from our farm, during times when you may be entertaining or "putting up" for the off-season. We are using a software program called Farmigo to manage shares in 2021. Members will be alerted before their pickup day as to what they can expect in their share. Depending on the size of share you choose, your pre-determined share will have $38 (large), $28 (medium), $19 (small) and $13.50 (sampler/basic) worth of produce. Members will then be able to go into their Farmigo account to add/discard produce from the share as determined by our field manager (let's call that "farmer's choice). The credits that are purchased ($1,000, $750, $500 & $350) allow for members to exceed their base share's value, if desired. So, for example, you may choose a Large share and each week your base share will be worth about $38. You can then go into your account and add more produce to your share, making it, say, $50. Your credits will be decreased by $50 for that week. You can also reduce your base share on a week that you would like less produce and end up paying less than the $38 base. So, for example, a bunch of kale may be priced at $2.00/bunch, a pound of yellow onions may be priced at $1.30/pound, and so forth.  When creating an order, a member can use their weekly credit they already pre-purchased to fill their order up to that amount (as in the case of our example, $38 for a large share) or they can order over or under that amount. Pricing for individual items may change with the seasons, such as when we have an overabundance of a crop and want to lower the price to increase demand for it. We are no longer lining produce boxes with a plastic liner, as we only did this in response to early Covid-19 precautions, and this practice is no longer recommended.

Additionally, "add-ons" may be available for purchase from other farmers and vendors such as:

- Bloody Mary mix, salsas, barbecue sauce, marinara pasta sauce, hot sauce, marinades and more from Dogwood Farms of Liberty Corner, NJ.

PICK YOUR OWN CROPS INCLUDED!!I

Also included in your Delivered Boxed Share fee are weekly pick-your-own privileges to the pick-your-own crops at either the Pennington or Chesterfield farm (you will be assigned one of these PYO farms depending on which Boxed Share site you choose). Please download your Boxed Share Handbook (see below) to determine which farm you would visit. The This Week’s page lets you know what’s available for pick-your-own harvesting from week to week. We will occasionally harvest some of the pick-your-own crops for you, such as strawberries, hot peppers and green beans, and include them in your box. However, please try to set aside a few days each season to visit the farm to do your own pick-your-own harvesting, since nothing compares to the freshness of a fresh-picked strawberry or snap pea! Many of our members tell us that the CSA membership is still a good value even if they don’t harvest PYO crops.
