As of Sunday, June 16th
Please know that sometime this week, Iron Bridge Road will be out for the summer. Please follow detours to farm if you come from the Hamilton area.
Strawberries, red raspberries, snap beans, snap/snow peas, lilies and herbs may be available during regular PYO hours (please see your Handbook for hours). Directions to the farm are here. Please remember to enter the farm by using Crosswicks-Ellisdale Road & to exit by using Harker Road.
You will go to the yellow PYO tent, sign in & help yourselves to the PYO containers. Please look at the dry erase board for quantities & locations of crops.
Herbs to harvest include sage, thyme, chives, catnip, oregano and lemon balm. PYO quantities are: snap beans: Family/Boxed: 1 quart; Individual: 1 pint; red raspberries: Family/Boxed: 1 quart; Individual: 1 pint. Strawberries are now a “grazing” crop; you may snack on them in the field, but no harvesting for home use. Snap/snap peas (mix & match in one box) are: 1/2 pint total all share sizes. Lilies are: Family/Boxed: 2 stems; Individual: 1 stem. Herbs are: Family/Boxed: 1 large bunch/herb; Individual: 1 small bunch/herb.
When harvesting red raspberries, please know that the time to harvest will be much longer than when harvesting strawberries as the fruit is much smaller. Please only harvest completely ripened fruit, which will easily release from the plant when gently pulled off the cane. Please allow yourself at least one hour for harvesting today, and be sure to remember we close at 3pm, so all harvesting must be completed by then.
Please download and read your Handbook prior to harvesting your pick your own crops as well as coming to the Distribution Center. (Note: our picnic grove has not been set up yet.)
Boxed Share members we still have Boxed Shares available at all Boxed Share locations so tell your friends! Please read your Wednesday Boxed Share Handbook prior to picking up your box.
